What an amazing event! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that the KD Fun Day would be such a success! To date, we have raised over $26,300 and donations are still coming in! We are thrilled to have so many of you be a part of such an amazing event.
We have surpassed our goal and Dr. Burns and her research team are feverishly pulling samples and getting them ready to be sent to the lab. To keep you up to date, the samples will be analyzed for different proteins that were previously measured in another cohort of KD kids and controls. The results from this second round will tell us how close we are to having a diagnostic test. This is fantastic news!
We want to thank to all of our remarkable vendors who volunteered their services and helped to make the event so special. Jonah Bobo was so much fun and full of energy. JW Tumbles-Rancho Bernardo and Playball kept everyone entertained with their performances and interactive events. The amazing face painters Veronica and Beth and the incredible balloon twister Rachele added so much amusement for the children throughout the day.
We’d also like acknowledge and give a special thanks to Balloons by Kathy for donating the helium tank, Chick-fil-A and Dasani for the generous food and beverage donations, Sound Image and Steve Redfern & Associates for the Sound System and to the Hullaballoo Band and the Jumpitz for their terrific music and songs.

Master of Ceremonies - Jonah Bobo
Jonah Bobo is a happy-go-lucky, 13-year-old native of New York. He has become known to kids through his voice work as the original Austin in The Backyardigans and Todd in The Fox and the Hound 2. He has also been seen on the big screen as Danny in Zathura: A Space Adventure and in other films including The Best Thief in the World, Around the Bend, and Choke.
Jonah enjoys helping out with a number of charities and has close ties with Team Continuum and Project Sunshine. After learning about the seriousness of Kawasaki Disease, Jonah happily volunteered to be part of the Quest for a Diagnostic Test Fun Day!
