See you at the 2011 KD Fun Day!
The KD Fun Day is an opportunity to bring our community together and to build awareness of this very misunderstood disease.
Kawasaki's Disease is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. Eighty percent of patients are less than five years old. Kids diagnosed with KD have a good chance of recovery; however if left untreated or misdiagnosed, Kawasaki Disease can lead to fatal coronary artery aneurysms. Unfortunately, there is no diagnostic test for KD.
Our goal is to launch the Quest for a Diagnostic Test, in support of scientists at the UC San Diego Kawasaki Disease Research Center working to create the vital diagnostic test. With the help of your pledge or sponsorship, we hope to raise a minimum of $25,000.
The KD Foundation will donate all proceeds from the KD Fun Day Quest for a Diagnostic Test to the UC San Diego Kawasaki Disease Research Center, along with a 25% match on the first $15,000 of donations.
The generosity of community and corporate sponsors like you will ensure the success of the event this year and years to come, and I hope you will consider partnering with me and the KD Foundation in support of crucial research and innovation. Our sponsorship levels and corresponding benefits form can be downloaded HERE.
